The final approval of the General Urban Plan of Marbella by the Planning Commission of Andalusia (COTU) on last Friday represented a milestone in the history of the municipality of Marbella, which suffered from years of legal insecurity as a result from the building excesses of the GIL government era. Not surprisingly, this is the first General Urban Plan which the city has since 1986. The breakthrough came four years after "Operation Malaya" that uncovered a host of irregularities and forced the Government of Andalusia to take over the urban planning from the city. |
