The new Urban Plan of Marbella plans to build three new hotels in San Pedro Alcantara

The General Urban Plan (PGOU) of Marbella (Málaga) plans to build three new hotels in the main town of San Pedro de Alcantara, one in Guadalmina, another one in the southern part of Nueva Alcántara and another one in northern San Pedro.

The Marbella mayor Angeles Muñoz, who had a meeting with entrepreneurs to address the new plan, said that the plan contained a "commitment to increase the quality of life of the Marbella citizens”, while commenting that the plan includes "the possibility of more hotels being built within Marbella."

The document also envisages the possibility of building a marina, although, according to Muñoz, this is not easy to implement because it depends on the central government or the Andalusia government that design the implementation of new ports and that give the final permission.

With regard to housing, the plan provides for the standardization of 4,000 homes in the urban area and the construction of 10,139 housing units, of which 4,243 are public housing, explained Muñoz Regarding free zones, San Pedro is one of the most developed areas in this regard, with 755,000 square meters of parks.

The plan also includes the standardization and expansion of the industrial park, at 50,000 feet, at an area that was out of use. Finally, the councilor said it had also designed the new exhibition center with 75,000 square meters.
