The situation of hotel Los Monteros in Marbella (Málaga) doesn’t improve. On 19 November the Hotel entered into an insolvency procedure and this had his first impact with the creation of a platform for affected creditors that seeks to "unite the strengths of all creditors." This platform, which is lead by the law firm Lexland Marbella, is developing a strategy and a series of actions against the debtor companies, according to the responsible of the bankruptcy department, Cuesta Dimas. It’s very important for the stakeholders, whether employees or suppliers, to communicate their debts within one month after publishing the insolvency in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

By now a total of thirty creditors have acceded to this platform, confirmed Dimas Cuesta. Failure to do so would, as stated, lead to the result that in practice they wouldn’t charge anything at the end of the insolvency procedure. Therefore it requires a study of each case, which is being developed with each of the victims who have joined to the platform. Workers at Los Monteros haven’t received any salaries since early this year. Despite the numerous rallies and demonstrations in order to find a solution and that the board brought several complaints before the courts against the owner, the Russian businessman Ernest Malyshev filed for the insolvency of three companies of his group last week: Las Dunas Land SL, Inversiones SL Aljoda and Investment Dajoal S.L. The general secretary of Tourism, Trade and Hospitality of CCOO, Lola Villalba, said that if this insolvency is admitted, the hotel, now closed, should reopen and should then negotiate a viable plan that allows maintaining jobs and activity.
