Marbella aims to become the 'beach of Madrid'

The capital and the city of Marbella reached a preliminary agreement to start a joint promotion. Theatres, museums and cosmopolitan beauty in Madrid and sun and beaches in Marbella. Marbella wants to become the coast of Spain's capital, said the councilman of Tourism of the city, Jose Luis Hernandez. During the celebration of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid, he has concluded a preliminary agreement with the tourism promotion agency of Madrid to carry out joint promotional efforts and parallel activities to be undertaken both in the capital and in the town of Marbella, with the aim that it "happens to involve the cultural tourism and leisure in Madrid, particularly in long distance markets. "We intend to launch the message that Marbella is the beach of Madrid that any tourist, of the hundreds of thousands who visit the capital of Spain, chooses to spend part of their holiday in Marbella," he added.

During the celebration of Fitur, Marbella City Council revealed its goal of promoting Marbella in Arab countries. Qatar Airways and Marbella reached an agreement to "promote the city in order to become a a destination for tourists of the Gulf countries. Also, the councilman said that he reached a preliminary agreement of cooperation with Dubai on the occasion of the ITB in Berlin to start "reverse promotion”.
