Advantage for Foreign Investors in Spain
The Spanish Housing Secretary Beatriz Corredor is leading the appeal by the Spanish government to Britons to help boost Spain’s wavering economy. There are an estimated 700,000 unsold properties in Spain that, if bought, would not only provide a much needed injection of liquidity to the banks but would in turn create work for a work force that has seen its unemployment levels rise to over 21% according to figures announced in Madrid by the National Statistics Institute earlier this year.

Restoring Authority: Strong Actions from the Andalucian Government
A 2 storey illegally built property has been demolished in Alhaurín el Grande as an act of authority restoration by the Andalucian Government. The proprietor had obtained a license for a single story agricultural construction of 100m2, and yet had progressed to build a 2 story home, complete with pool, basement and cemented car park. He has been met with a €3600 fine, alongside 6 months in prison and the costs of the demolition.

The authorisation of illegal housing will be cost free for the government, but not for the owners
The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Josefina Cruz Villalón, has indicated that the illegal houses across Spain will soon be eligible to be recognised in a process “that cannot carry costs for the government”. She has also pointed out that basic services to such housing will made under “conditions of self-sufficiency”, meaning all costs of these utilities and developments shall be borne by the tenants, as decided in the decree being finalised.

Legalisation of scam properties imminent |

After nearly 50,000 home buyers have lost the legal rights to their properties across Spain, the Spanish development Minister (Jose Blanco) needs to convince investors to have faith in the housing market. He plans to promote the ´strength, transparency and soundness´ of purchasing property in Spain across a series of speeches in the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Russia.

In accordance with the recent election results from Sunday, €36billion will be shared out amongst the respective councilors, meaning high hopes and worries for the provincial governments and their individual deficits. The regional governments have currently incurred a debt of double that in 2007 at nearly €115billion, and with the People´s Party´s manifesto, service and budget cuts may be expected.
