OFFICIAL STATE GAZETTE  Order SND / 421/2020, May 18, by which adopts measures regarding the extension of permits to stay and reside and/or work and other situations of foreigners in Spain, in application of Royal Decree 463/2020, of March 14, declaring the state of emergency for dealing with the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

– Automatic extension of 6 months from when the emergency status was decreed for temporary residence and/or work authorizations and stay authorizations whose validity has expired during the validity of the emergency status and its extensions, or in the 90 calendar days before the decree of the emergency state.    

– Extension of family cards of the European Union citizens (idem. previous section)    – Extension of the foreigners identity cards granted based on a long-term residence (idem. previous sections)    – Extension of stays of up to 90 days for tourists «only for the territory of Spain» (the extra times will be computed for future stays)    

– Extension of long-term visas issued under a Youth Mobility Agreement, as well as students with visas of less than 180 days who are in Spain during the state of emergency: 3-month extension.    

– Third-country nationals can enter Spain with their valid travel document and their residence and/or expired visa, if they are: holders of an authorization, who have a family card of European Union citizens, an identity card of Foreigner granted on the basis of an extended long-term residence permit or holders of long-term visas for investors and entrepreneurs.     

– Absences from Spanish territory will not be taken into account for the purposes of the computation for effective residence in the country for anyone who is abroad without having been able to return to Spain because of COVID-19.
